Reviralis FAQ: 40 Questions Answered From the Label

Quick answer

The Reviralis FAQ answers 40 shopper questions from the bottle label, the order page and public health sources. Reviralis Complete is a capsule supplement: two capsules a day, 22 printed vitamin and mineral amounts and one 661 mg blend of 18 names. It is not an antiviral. Search the box below or open a group.

What do people ask about Reviralis?

Shoppers mostly ask five things: what is in the bottle, how many capsules to take, whether it suits their medicines, what it costs and what happens if they return it.

The answers below follow the label first, then the order page, then public sources from NIH, CDC, FDA and WHO. Where the pack, the sales page and the label disagree, the label wins and we say so. None of this is medical advice, and no source tested Reviralis itself.

Three things before you read on

Keep taking any prescribed medicine, including an antiviral. See a clinician for a diagnosis. Call 911 for trouble breathing, a seizure, chest pain, swelling of the face or throat, or sudden confusion with a severe headache.

Group 102

What is Reviralis Complete, in plain words?

Reviralis Complete is a vegetable-capsule dietary supplement with 40 names on its label, sold in 60-count bottles.

The label is the best place to start, because it is the one document printed on the bottle. Sales wording can change; the panel does not.

What does Reviralis Complete contain?

The label names 40 ingredients: 22 vitamins and minerals with printed amounts, plus one proprietary blend of 661 mg that names 18 more. The blend gives no single amounts. Other ingredients are cellulose, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate and silicon dioxide.

Is Reviralis a capsule, a gummy or a powder?

Capsules. The bottle holds 60 vegetable capsules, and the label sets a serving at two, so one bottle is 30 servings. It is not a gummy, a powder or drops, and the render on the order page shows a white bottle with a teal label.

Is Reviralis a drug?

No. It is sold as a dietary supplement. The label carries the standard statement that the claims were not evaluated by the FDA and that the product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease (FDA, Structure/function claims).

Why does the sales page say 41-in-1 when the label has 40 names?

The label panel prints 22 vitamin and mineral lines and 18 blend names, which is 40. We could not find a 41st on the label we read. This site counts what is printed, and when the two differ, the label wins.

Does the label mention herpes?

No. The label never names herpes, outbreaks or any disease. Its front says "Wholebody Wellness" and "Premium Botanical Formula". Disease wording appears only on the sales page, and we answer it on the benefits page.

Who makes Reviralis?

The label names a distributor, Phyto Thrive Labs of Largo, Florida, and prints no manufacturer, facility or lot number on the flat label. It says "Made in the USA with globally sourced ingredients". Ask the seller for the manufacturer's name before you buy.

Group 203

How much Reviralis do you take a day?

The label says two capsules a day with 8 oz of water, 20 to 30 minutes before a meal.

The pack and the sales page say one. Until the seller clears that up, treat two as the label dose and never go above it.

How do you take Reviralis capsules?

Take two capsules daily with an 8 oz glass of water. The label adds that for best results you take them 20 to 30 minutes before a meal, or as your healthcare professional directs. See how to use Reviralis for the full routine.

The pack says one capsule. Which is right?

The pack and the sales page say one capsule, while the Supplement Facts panel sets the serving at two. This site follows the label. Because the two disagree, ask the order desk to confirm, and do not exceed what the label says.

How long does one bottle last?

At two capsules a day, 60 capsules last 30 days. Packs of 2, 3 and 6 bottles therefore cover 60, 90 and 180 days. At one capsule a day the bottle would last 60 days, which is why the conflict matters.

What if I miss a dose?

The label gives no missed-dose rule, so we will not invent one. Do not double up to catch up. Take your next serving as usual and ask a pharmacist if you want advice that fits your own medicines.

Can I take Reviralis at night or without food?

The label's timing is 20 to 30 minutes before a meal with water. It prints no rule for bedtime. Green tea extract is on the list, and Memorial Sloan Kettering advises taking green tea extracts with food (NCCIH, Green Tea), so ask a pharmacist.

Can I take more than two capsules?

No. The label says not to exceed the recommended dose. The printed vitamin B6 is 12 mg, and the blend holds 18 names with hidden amounts, so extra capsules add amounts you cannot see. More is not better here.

Group 304

What does the 661 mg blend really tell you?

It tells you the total and the order, and nothing else. That is enough for some arithmetic.

With 661 mg shared by 18 names, the first name holds at least 36.7 mg and the last at most 36.7 mg. The table gives the ceilings for the names people ask about most.

Blend ceilings for common questions (mg per serving of 2 capsules)
Blend namePlaceLabel saysStudy dose
DMAE bitartrate1stAt least 36.7No dose for claims

Grape seed extract10thAt most 66.1100 to 300
Phosphatidylserine18thAt most 36.72300
What is a proprietary blend?

A proprietary blend lists several ingredients under one total weight. Here the total is 661 mg for 18 names. US rules require the names to run from most to least by weight, but they do not require each amount (21 CFR 101.36).

How much DMAE, bacopa or green tea is in each serving?

The label does not say. By its order, DMAE is first and holds at least 36.7 mg. Green tea is fourth, at most 165.25 mg, and bacopa fifth, at most 132.2 mg. These are ceilings from arithmetic, not measured amounts.

Are the amounts the same as the doses used in studies?

For the names we compared, the studies used more than the blend can hold. Bacopa trials used about 300 mg a day (StatPearls, Bacopa monnieri), and the label order allows at most 132.2 mg. No study tested Reviralis itself.

Which blend name is last, and why does it matter?

Phosphatidylserine is last, so it can hold at most 36.7 mg. A typical adult amount, 100 to 200 mg a day, is at least 2.7 times higher (Cleveland Clinic, Phosphatidylserine). The ceiling is simple division: 661 mg shared by 18 names.

Is the vitamin B6 amount too high?

It is 12 mg, which the label shows as 706% of the Daily Value. The adult upper limit is 100 mg a day (NIH ODS, Vitamin B6), so the printed amount is about an eighth of it. Add up B6 from every product you take.

Is vanadyl sulfate a concern?

It is 17th in the blend, so it could hold up to 38.88 mg. About 31% of vanadyl sulfate is vanadium, and the adult upper limit for vanadium is 1.8 mg a day (National Academies, trace-element DRIs). The label does not say it reaches that. Ask for the real amount.

Group 405

Is Reviralis suitable alongside your medicines?

Only your pharmacist or prescriber can say. The label asks you to consult a healthcare provider if you take prescription medicine, especially antidepressants, blood thinners or medicine for the nervous or cardiovascular system.

Bring the 40-name list to the counter. A short visit beats a guess.

Tap every kind of medicine you take

Pick one or more kinds of medicine to see the label's own warning and the source notes. Nothing is stored or sent.

Antidepressants

What the label saysThe label names antidepressants: consult your healthcare provider before use if you are taking them.

What the sources say, by ingredient group

Ask your pharmacist“I take antidepressants. The Reviralis label lists 40 names. Does anything on it matter for my medicine, and when should I take each?”

Blood thinners

What the label saysThe label names blood thinners: consult your healthcare provider before use if you are taking them.

What the sources say, by ingredient group

Ask your pharmacist“I take blood thinners. The Reviralis label lists 40 names. Does anything on it matter for my medicine, and when should I take each?”

Seizure medicine

What the label saysThe label tells anyone with a history of seizures to consult a healthcare provider before use.

What the sources say, by ingredient group

  • B vitaminsFolic acid can lower the effect of some seizure medicines such as phenytoin, and anticonvulsants can lower vitamin B6 (NIH ODS). (NIH ODS, Folate)
  • Amino acids and brain nutrientsSeveral blend names (DMAE, GABA, tyrosine) act on the nervous system. This is our reading of the label, not a finding about the product. (EBSCO Research Starters, DMAE)

Ask your pharmacist“I take seizure medicine. The Reviralis label lists 40 names. Does anything on it matter for my medicine, and when should I take each?”

Nervous-system or heart medicine

What the label saysThe label names medications affecting the nervous or cardiovascular system.

What the sources say, by ingredient group

  • Herbal leaf and bark extractsLicorice root can raise blood pressure and lower potassium, and it interacts with diuretics and heart medicine; green tea extracts can carry caffeine, and the label prints no caffeine figure. (NCCIH, Licorice Root)
  • Major mineralsPotassium and magnesium amounts are small here (50 mg each), but both matter to people on certain heart, kidney or blood pressure medicines. (NIH ODS, Potassium)
  • Amino acids and brain nutrientsGABA may cause drowsiness and could add to sedating medicine. (Boonstra et al. 2015, GABA)

Ask your pharmacist“I take nervous-system or heart medicine. The Reviralis label lists 40 names. Does anything on it matter for my medicine, and when should I take each?”

Thyroid medicine

What the label saysThe label asks anyone taking prescription medications to consult a healthcare provider; it does not name thyroid medicine.

What the sources say, by ingredient group

  • Major mineralsCalcium, iron and magnesium can block absorption of thyroid hormone if taken together; the amounts here are small but spacing is a pharmacist question. (NIH ODS, Calcium)
  • Amino acids and brain nutrientsWe found no source naming a thyroid-medicine interaction for tyrosine; ask a pharmacist. (Jongkees 2015, Tyrosine Supplementation Review (J Psychiatr Res))
  • B vitaminsBiotin can distort thyroid lab tests in large doses. This label prints 3 mcg; tell the lab about any biotin anyway. (NIH ODS, Biotin)

Ask your pharmacist“I take thyroid medicine. The Reviralis label lists 40 names. Does anything on it matter for my medicine, and when should I take each?”

Diabetes medicine

What the label saysThe label asks anyone taking prescription medications to consult a healthcare provider; it does not name diabetes medicine.

What the sources say, by ingredient group

  • DHA, boron and vanadiumVanadyl sulfate has been tested for blood sugar in small trials; the label order allows an amount that could exceed the 1.8 mg vanadium upper limit, and the real amount is not printed. (National Academies, trace-element DRIs)
  • Herbal leaf and bark extractsCinnamon and olive leaf have been studied for blood sugar and may lower it a little. (NCCIH, Cinnamon)
  • Trace mineralsChromium may affect blood sugar; the label prints 12 mcg. (NIH ODS, Chromium)

Ask your pharmacist“I take diabetes medicine. The Reviralis label lists 40 names. Does anything on it matter for my medicine, and when should I take each?”

Antivirals (acyclovir, valacyclovir, famciclovir)

What the label saysThe label asks anyone taking prescription medications to consult a healthcare provider; it does not name antivirals or herpes.

What the sources say, by ingredient group

  • Trace mineralsNo source we found names an interaction between these ingredients and acyclovir, valacyclovir or famciclovir. That is an absence of information, not a safety finding. (CDC, STI Treatment Guidelines: Herpes)
  • Fruit and seed extractsGrapefruit juice changes how the body handles many medicines; whether grapefruit seed extract does is not settled (MSK). (Avula 2007, Synthetic Disinfectants in Grapefruit Seed Extract (Pharmazie))

Ask your pharmacist“I take antivirals (acyclovir, valacyclovir, famciclovir). The Reviralis label lists 40 names. Does anything on it matter for my medicine, and when should I take each?”

This check never says Reviralis is safe for you. Only your pharmacist or prescriber can, with your whole medicine list. Absence of a flag here means we found no source naming one, not that none exists. Keep taking prescribed medicine, including any antiviral.

Who should not take Reviralis?

The label says it is not for anyone under 18. It tells pregnant or nursing women, and people with a medical condition, a seizure history or a prescription, to consult a healthcare provider first. Antidepressants, blood thinners and nervous or heart medicine are named.

Can I take Reviralis with an antiviral like acyclovir?

Ask your pharmacist or prescriber. Keep taking the antiviral as prescribed, because it is the proven care and a supplement cannot stand in for it (CDC, STI Treatment Guidelines: Herpes). Do not stop or change a prescription on your own.

Can I take Reviralis with a blood thinner?

Ask first. The label names blood thinners. Bilberry may add to their effect (MSK About Herbs, Bilberry Fruit), high-dose vitamin E may raise bleeding risk (NIH ODS, Vitamin E), and DHA can prolong bleeding at high doses. Your prescriber needs the full 40-name list.

Does licorice root in the blend matter for blood pressure?

It can. Glycyrrhizin from licorice can raise blood pressure and lower potassium (NCCIH, Licorice Root). The label does not say how much licorice is inside or whether glycyrrhizin has been removed, so people with heart or kidney disease should ask a clinician.

Can green tea extract affect the liver?

Green tea extract supplements have been linked to liver injury in some people, mostly at high doses (NCCIH, Green Tea). The label gives no green tea amount. Stop and call a clinician if you notice dark urine, yellow skin or unusual tiredness.

What are the emergency signs?

Call 911 for trouble breathing, a seizure, chest pain, swelling of the face or throat, or sudden confusion with a severe headache and stiff neck. Eye symptoms and a newborn with sores need urgent care. See side effects for milder reactions.

Group 506

Does Reviralis do anything for herpes?

No study of Reviralis shows that it changes herpes outbreaks, and the label does not claim it.

The proven care is a prescription antiviral that a clinician chooses. Many people with herpes have few or no symptoms, and outbreaks tend to lessen over time (CDC, About Genital Herpes). A flagged question about your own case belongs with a clinician.

Is Reviralis a herpes treatment?

No source we found shows that. Herpes simplex virus has no cure (WHO, Herpes Simplex Virus Fact Sheet), and prescription antivirals are the proven care. We found no source showing a supplement does, and a Cochrane review found no evidence that lysine or one other supplement prevents cold sores (Chi 2015, Cochrane: Preventing Cold Sores).

What does the sales page claim?

It uses wording such as "flare-ups" and "outbreak-conscious", and it says users report fewer flare-ups. We quote these only to answer them. The is Reviralis legit page flips each claim against the label and sources.

Is there a clinical trial of Reviralis?

We found none. No published trial of Reviralis Complete or of this exact 40-name mix turned up. Studies of single ingredients exist, mostly at larger doses than the blend allows, and they do not stand in for a product trial.

I think I have herpes. What should I do first?

See a clinician for a diagnosis, since other conditions look like herpes. If you already take an antiviral, keep taking it. Our herpes basics guide explains the virus using CDC, WHO and Mayo Clinic sources.

Can supplements replace daily suppressive therapy?

No. CDC guidelines describe daily antiviral suppression and episodic treatment, both chosen with a clinician (CDC, STI Treatment Guidelines: Herpes). A supplement is not in that guidance. Do not skip prescribed doses because you started one.

Will Reviralis boost my immune system?

The sales page uses that kind of wording, but the label does not. The label does list vitamin C, zinc and selenium. Regular vitamin C has not been shown to cut colds in the general population (NIH ODS, Vitamin C).
