Reviralis Side Effects: What Public Sources Say About Each Name

Quick answer

Reviralis side effects are not listed on the label, and no study tested the product itself. Public sources do describe effects of some names inside it: stomach upset with bacopa, liver injury reports with green tea extract, higher blood pressure with licorice, and nerve effects of very large vitamin B6 doses. Nothing here shows the product is free of effects.

The short answer01

What are the side effects of Reviralis?

The label lists none, and no trial of Reviralis exists. What we can do is read the 40 names against public sources and flag the ones with known cautions.

That means we cannot say "no side effects." Supplements are not approved by the FDA before sale; the maker is responsible for safety and a truthful label (FDA, Dietary supplements). The blend hides its split, so the exact dose of any botanical is unknown. The best guess for any one name is its ceiling in the label order, and that is arithmetic, not a measurement.

The table sorts the main flags. "Where" tells you whether the number is printed or only a ceiling.

The printed half02

Is the vitamin B6 in Reviralis too high?

12 mg is 706% of the Daily Value, but about an eighth of the 100 mg upper limit. A big percentage is not the same as a dangerous amount.

The Daily Value for B6 is tiny, about 1.7 mg, so any real dose looks huge as a percent. The problem arises with long-term high intakes, mostly from stacking several products (NIH ODS, Vitamin B6). Zinc follows the same logic: 10 mg is a quarter of the 40 mg limit, and a second multivitamin could move it up (NIH ODS, Zinc).

A worked example helps. You take Reviralis (B6 12 mg) plus a B-complex with 50 mg. Total 62 mg, still under 100 but over half the limit. Add an energy drink with B6 and it keeps rising. Use the checker with your own products.

  1. Vitamin B612 mg a day (12 mg from Reviralis)

At or under the 100 mg adult upper limit for Vitamin B6.

  2. Zinc10 mg a day (10 mg from Reviralis)

At or under the 40 mg adult upper limit for Zinc.

  3. Selenium50 mcg a day (50 mcg from Reviralis)

At or under the 400 mcg adult upper limit for Selenium.

  4. Niacin12.5 mg a day (12.5 mg from Reviralis)

At or under the 35 mg adult upper limit for Niacin.

  5. Folic acid400 mcg a day (400 mcg from Reviralis)

At or under the 1000 mcg adult upper limit for Folic acid.

  6. Magnesium (from supplements)50 mg a day (50 mg from Reviralis)

At or under the 350 mg adult upper limit for Magnesium.

Type the amounts printed on any multivitamin or other supplement you take.

Upper limits for adults from NIH ODS and the National Academies: B6 100 mg, zinc 40 mg, selenium 400 mcg, niacin 35 mg (supplements), folic acid 1,000 mcg, magnesium 350 mg from supplements (NIH ODS, Vitamin B6) (NIH ODS, Zinc) (NIH ODS, Folate). A checking aid, not medical advice. The 12 mg of B6 on this label is 706% of the Daily Value but about an eighth of the limit.

The blend03

Which names in the blend carry the most cautions?

Green tea, licorice, vanadyl sulfate and bilberry draw the most public cautions, though the real amounts are not printed.

Liver

Green tea leaf extract

Liver injury is uncommon but reported with extracts in capsules, and caffeine content varies (NCCIH, Green Tea). Stop and call a clinician for dark urine, yellow skin or eyes, or belly pain.

Pressure

Licorice root extract

Glycyrrhizin can raise blood pressure and lower potassium (MSK About Herbs, Licorice). The label does not say whether the extract has the glycyrrhizin removed.

Stomach

Bacopa and inositol

Stomach upset is the usual effect of bacopa (StatPearls, Bacopa monnieri). Inositol in large doses does the same (Carlomagno 2011, Inositol Safety (Eur Rev Med Pharmacol Sci)).

Drowsy

GABA

It may cause drowsiness (Boonstra et al. 2015, GABA). Take care before driving until you know how you react.

Coumarin

Cinnamon bark extract

Cassia cinnamon contains coumarin, and the label does not name the species (NCCIH, Cinnamon).

Bleeding

Bilberry, DHA, vitamin E

High doses of these may add to bleeding effects with blood thinners (MSK About Herbs, Bilberry Fruit) (NIH ODS, Omega-3 Fatty Acids).

Because the label gives no split, these flags apply to the name, not to a measured dose. Vanadyl sulfate is the one to watch by arithmetic. It is 17th of 18, so it could hold at most about 38.9 mg, and roughly 31% of vanadyl sulfate is vanadium. At the ceiling that passes the 1.8 mg adult limit. The label does not say it does.

What you might notice04

What mild effects might you notice first?

Most reports for these names are stomach-related: nausea, cramps or an upset stomach, especially on an empty stomach.

The label says to take the capsules 20 to 30 minutes before a meal, which can feel harsh for some people. Riboflavin, a B vitamin in the capsules, can turn urine bright yellow (NIH ODS, Riboflavin). That is harmless but startling.

  • Stomach upset or nausea, most often on an empty stomach.
  • Bright yellow urine from riboflavin, which is harmless.
  • Drowsiness, which GABA may cause.
  • Rash, swelling, trouble breathing, yellow skin or eyes: get care right away.

If something shows up, write the date, the dose and what you ate. That note helps a pharmacist more than any guess.

When to stop05

When should you stop Reviralis and get care?

Stop the capsules and call a clinician for yellow skin or eyes, dark urine, severe belly pain, a racing or irregular heartbeat, fainting, or a rash.

Call 911 for trouble breathing, a seizure, chest pain, swelling of the face or throat, or sudden confusion with a severe headache and stiff neck. Report a bad reaction to the FDA through its MedWatch program, and tell the order desk if you need to return the bottle.

Keep taking any prescribed medicine, including an antiviral, unless your prescriber tells you otherwise. A supplement side effect is never a reason to skip it. And if you have sores with no diagnosis, see a clinician, because other conditions look like herpes.

No proof either way06

Is Reviralis safe to take?

We cannot call it that. No trial tested the product, the blend amounts are hidden, and the label itself asks several groups to check first.

What can be said is narrower. The printed vitamin and mineral amounts sit under their adult upper limits. The blend is the unknown. Read the medicine check, who it is for and the proprietary blend page, and ask your pharmacist.

FAQ07

Questions about Reviralis side effects

Does Reviralis cause nausea?

It can for some people, since bacopa and inositol cause stomach upset in public sources and the label points to an empty stomach. No trial of Reviralis counted how often. Tell a pharmacist if it persists.

Can Reviralis affect the liver?

Green tea extract supplements have been linked to liver injury, though rarely. Reviralis lists green tea extract in its blend with no amount. Stop and call a clinician for yellow skin or eyes or dark urine.

Does Reviralis raise blood pressure?

Licorice root extract in the blend can raise blood pressure at enough glycyrrhizin, and the amount is not printed. People with high blood pressure should ask a clinician before using it.

Can Reviralis interact with antidepressants?

The label warns about antidepressants by name, and one source notes licorice may add to some MAO inhibitors. Ask your prescriber before use and do not change a dose yourself.

Is the 12 mg of vitamin B6 dangerous?

On its own, no source calls 12 mg dangerous; the adult upper limit is 100 mg. The risk comes from stacking several B6 products over a long time, so total them first.

Does Reviralis have any known allergens?

No allergen statement is printed on the label. It lists grapefruit seed and other plant extracts, so anyone with plant allergies should ask the order desk and a clinician first.
